UCC is very focused on providing resources and supports for you to be able to look after your health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Everyday Matters (Digital Badge)

Everyday Matters

The Everyday Matters Programme was developed by Dr. Eithne Hunt who is an occupational therapist. It explores practical everyday things, based on the latest scientific research, that you can say and do to support yourself as much as possible during this time of change and establish healthy habits and routines for your university lifestyle, enhancing your successful transition into and through higher education. This programme is available to first year, undergraduate, UCC students. The weekly themes include: Brain development and habit formation, Sleep, Self-care, Leisure, Study & Work, Self-compassion, Growth Mindset, Joy & Gratitude.

Learning Outcomes:

Apply knowledge from published research to participant’s own life.
Analyse personal patterns of time use including study/work, leisure, self-care and sleep.
Develop positive habits of mind (mindful self-compassion, growth mindset, joy & gratitude).
Use a strategy for creating and maintaining healthy time use habits and habits of mind.

Everyone is welcome in The Skills Centre! They provide a dedicated, responsive, and active learning space for the enhancement of study skills. They are committed to further contributing to a positive and successful student experience here in UCC. They offer a free and friendly place for all UCC students to improve your study skills, writing technique and presentation skills.
